The
Department of Educational Technology maintains records for reporting
to the SC State Department of Education, for the benefit of Charleston
County School District, and to assess our strengths and weaknesses
in providing services to all CCSD employees.

Professional Development
One major mission of the Educational Technology Department is
to provide professional development in technology training for
all CCSD employees, especially classroom teachers, in order to
encourage technology use in the curriculum to increase student
achievement. Technology also benefits other district employees
in job productivity.

Proviso 1.29 Teacher Technology Proficiency Results
The SC Legislature passed Proviso 1.29 in 1999, which
states that all SC teachers must demonstrate technology proficiency.
The Charleston County School District put their Proviso 1.29 into
effect in the 2003-2004 school year.
