Technology Integration Ideas for Guidance
Counselors
There
are many ways guidance counselors integrate technology into their
work as student advocates.
1. Develop PowerPoint Presentations that will be used
in information sessions for students and parents.
2. Develop a web site that will include links to other web sites.
3. Create a newsletter for students and parents that contains
guidance information from college selections to anger control.
4. Plan for students to use the Internet for career exploration,
college search, in-depth college information, scholarship search
and general information about getting into colleges.
5. Communicate via email and other telecommunications activities
to announce special guidance meetings or guidance group sessions.
6. Use the digital camera to take student pictures for bulletin
boards spotlighting special students.
7. Use Inspiration or another graphic organizer to help
students with decision making or career ideas.
8. Students can create PowerPoint presentation about
any topic in guidance classes.
9. Students can use Excel to create a budget based on specific
career salaries.
10. Use online interest inventories to help students with career
decisions.
