Introduction
You have the opportunity to represent
your company at the book publishers conference in New York. You really
want to go, but only one person from the company will be selected to attend.
Your boss told you that the committee is looking for a creative person
that can help boost sales of the Caldecott books. In order to be selected
you will have to make a presentation about one award winning book telling
why the book deserved the medal and present several ways that the book
can be promoted.
The Task
Your task is select a Caldecott
Award winning book and to determine why this book won the award.
You will need to research your author and to write a book review of your
book. You will also prepare two other projects that can be used to
promote your book. These can be in the form of a bookmark, book cover,
poster, the creation of an accelerated reader quiz, or any other means
that is approved by your teacher. An oral presentation will be made to
the class.
