You and your group will read the story The Itsy Bitsy Spider by Iza Trapani. This version has the spider not only going up the water spout, but climbing up the kitchen wall, inside the fan, up a tree, etc.  Your job is to research spiders, decide if any of the three you researched is the type of spider in the story, make a poster, complete a spider craft, and create your own verse of the song.  
1. After getting into groups of three students, read The Itsy Bitsy Spider story.

2. Each group will choose three types of spiders to research.  Some examples are Daddy Long Legs, Brown Recluse, or Banana Spider.  Each member of your group will research one of the three you chose.

3.Once your group's research is complete, you will answer a set of  spider questions and combine the research of all three members to create your poster.

4. On your group's poster, you will include your facts and the verse of the Itsy Bitsy Spider song that your group created.

5. Once you complete your poster, your group will pick one craft from the list below to demonstrate for the class.

6. Your group will share your craft, poster, and verse of the song with your classmates.
