Conclusion
A Day No Pigs Will Die
by Robert Newton Peck
Now that you have completed this Webquest,
I would hope that you have a deeper understanding of who Robert Newton
Peck was and how his personal life is reflected in this autobiographical
novel. I would hope that you have an understanding of the Shaker
religion so that when you are reading the novel, you will have a better
understanding of the character of Robert and the values he is taught.
The setting of a story (time and place) should be clearer for you after
having studied Vermont, Rutland, Baseball in the 1930's, Ethan Allen and
the Green Mountain Boys. Finally, I hope that you have a better appreciation
for a pig.
Before you begin the novel, I found
an "Anticipation Guide" in a KIDREACH Online Reading Center Site.
The following questions are used to introduce issues and ideas that you
may confront when you read this novel. They are designed toencourage
you to think. I have pasted the 9 questions onto a page for you to
print out so that you may look at your answers when you finish reading
the novel to see if you feel differently at the end.
