You will
research four environments and determine the types of difficulties you would have
in each. After you have
selected your environment
and difficulties, you will write a journal giving a daily account of what
you might have encountered while surviving for two weeks alone.
1. Go to Listof Difficulties for each environment
(print and use)
2. Visit several sites to evaluate each environment.
See Student Resources. Complete Listof Difficulties
and choose several difficulties to encounter.
3. The teacher will assign which environment you will be lost in.
(See resources)
4. Chose 3 pieces of equipment to take with you such as a knife,
a canteen, a hatchet. This is all you will have except the clothes
on your body.
5. Write a journal heading for each day you will be lost.
- Share your writings
daily with the class.
- Compare the types
of difficulties to be faced.
- You may only
use the 3 pieces of equipment you have chosen for your survival.
See Journal Evaluation Rubric.
6. Teacher will identify four student journals (one for each
environment) for you to evaluate using the Journal
Evaluation Rubric.Think about the difficulties the
students have encountered in their environments.
How well did they express this to you?
You will be evaluated as to how well you participated
as a group member.
