name for your travel company. 2. Everyone needs to take a role based on their birthday. The person in your group whose birthday month comes first takes role #1, etc. Role Assignments: #1 Museum Curator: research museums in the D.C. area and select 4 students should visit; write a paragraph about each museum; include one photo and admission price for each site. #2 Monument Guide: research monuments in the D.C. area and select 4 students should visit; write a paragraph about each monument; include one photo and admission price for each site. #3 Special Attractions Expert: research other attractions in the D.C. area and select 4 attractions students should visit; write a paragraph about each attraction; include one photo and admission price for each site. #4 Travel Specialist: research two hotels to stay in and two possible airline flight plans; write a paragraph about each hotel and each flight plan; make sure to include prices for flights and for rooms (4 people occupancy per room) 3. Begin researching. Your research is limited to the sites listed on the Resource Page. Click here to go to RESOURCE page. 4.Your travel company needs to meet to discuss possible sites. Each person should present their four attractions to visit. After EACH PERSON presents, stop and discuss the sites. The team must then vote on the best 2 attractions from that expert to put on the travel agenda. When listening to the travel specialist, your company will pick one hotel and one flight plan for the travel agenda. 5. As a team, create a title for your tour. 6. Each company should now have a list of 6 sites to visit, one hotel, and one flight plan. It is now your job to collectively make a PowerPoint presentation to show to James Island Middle School. Remember that your company is trying to win this travel contract, so be persuasive. Look carefully at the Powerpoint requirement page before beginning. Save your presentation on the network. Each person is responsible for making the Powerpoint slides for their role. Teams are encouraged to share ideas so that the presentation flows smoothly from one slide to the next. Click here to go to the POWERPOINT REQUIREMENT page. 6. Your company will present your PowerPoint to the class. |
