Task 1- Read the novel.

- Listen as the novel is read on audio tape.
- Follow along in the book.
- Participate in discussions of the novel.

Task 2- Brainstorm important
points of the novel with a partner.

- Working with a partner, daily record important points from
the reading: ie.setting, main literary heroes, theme,opinions, etc. - click here to review a good list of heroic
qualities. Refer to the values tab at the top of the site. Choose two
qualities listed and explain how your character exhibits these traits.
- Make sure your journal entries are dated.

Task 3- Research the author-
make a wanted poster.

Task 4- Write a book review
of the novel. This will be an independent activity.
