TEACHER NOTES

To begin this 6th grade web quest,  copies of the novel Holes by Louis Sachar are required along with an audiotape (the tape is optional but a good way to hold the students' attention).  We will listen to a portion of the book on tape daily in class.  Working with a partner, a journal is to be kept daily on important points read in the novel. These journals will be provided for the student.  Each page should be dated.  If a student is absent, he/she must independently read what is missed and note important points to add to the journal. The student will be assigned a partner before the reading begins. The journal notes and wanted poster  will be done with a partner, but the final book review will be done independently on the computer. Please review the rubric evaluation to make sure that the students follow what is required.
