We are about to embark on
a camping trip to the Southwest United States. Our trip will take
us into various Native American tribes. Before we visit each tribe,
we will need to know some background information on each tribe in order to
communicate. We will begin with a general study of Indians
of the Southwest: the Navajos, Apaches, Utes, Cheyennes, Nez Perce,
Kiowas, Comanches, Zunis and Hopis. Study the beliefs, customs, songs,
and dances. Was there a written language? Where are these people
now? Has their culture changed?
