Process

 
1.You will be divided into nine teams of three.  Each team will research an Indian tribe of the Southwest. This will include the Navajos, Apaches, Utes, Cheyennes, Nez Perce, Kiowas, Comanches, Zunis, and Hopis.
2.  Each team must designate members to fulfill various roles.  The roles are:
  • Project Director/Writer-supervises the creation of the PowerPoint presentation
  • Researcher-defines the information necessary to create the PowerPoint, studies existing information and draws conclusions concerning the necessary information.  
  • Graphics Coordinator/Designer-finds illustrations and/or images for the presentation.
3.  Each student will choose his/her field of expertise and fulfill his/her role.
4. Use the web sites on the Resource page to research your role and present your information to your team.  Be sure to research the following information for your tribe: a map showing the location of the tribe, a graphic of the tribe, beliefs, customs, religion, songs and dances, and how their culture has changed.
5.  Use this information to create an eight slide PowerPoint presentation. Your presentation must also have five images and cited resources.
6.  Go to the Evaluation page to check your presentation with the rubric.
7.  Share your presentation with the class.
