John Steinbeck

"And this I believe: that the free, exploring mind of the individual human is the most valuable thing in all the world. And this I would fight for: the freedom of the mind to take any direction it wishes, undirected. And this I must fight against: any idea, religion, or government which limits or destroys the individual."

You've read Of Mice and Men and The Great Gatsby. Now your teacher
is making you write an essay on one of the novels -- the dreaded "research essay." But wait -- she doesn't want a research essay where you simply use a couple of dictionaries and find some information about the author's life. She wants you to do critical analysis. And she wants you to find appropriate sources! What is this woman thinking? She's thinking that the Internet is a wonderful tool -- if you use it correctly. This WebQuest is going to help you find the appropriate sources and have a better understanding of how to use them in your critical analysis.
