Best Practice Video Taping Form

(What to expect on the filming day)

 

Format

 

Ø      Orally state and spell your name, grade level or subject, school name, and title of the lesson.

 

Ø      Give a brief overview of the lesson:  include how you are using technology in unique and creative ways, why the technology will likely improve student learning, and how the technology relates to academic standards.

 

Ø      Videotape students participating in this activity. 

Ø      Provide a brief summation of the lesson and include any additional web sites, resources, etc. that will help provide viewers with more information.

Filming Tips

Ø      Try to wear solid colors.  Medium colors and pastels photograph best.  Avoid wearing white.

 

Ø      Use visual props of your students’ work if possible.

 

Ø      Try to control the noise level (bells ringing, etc.).

 

Incentives

 

Ø      4 hours of professional development that will count toward the 8 hours of professional development required by Proviso 1.29

 

Ø      A  “Best Practice” achievement certificate for excellence in technology integration

 

Ø      A recognition letter sent to the teacher, principal, area superintendent and Dr. McWhirt  

 

Excellence in integration of technology through the creation of Technology “Best Practices” lessons will be showcased in one or more of the following ways:

 

Ø      Lessons will be posted on the Instructional Technology web page.

 

Ø      Lessons will be broadcast at the technology liaison meeting.

 

Ø      Lessons will be published in the Technology Ti –Bytes newsletter

 

Ø      Lessons will be included in a VHS Technology “Best Practice” training video
