"If A is success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut."
Albert Einstein

"Don't say things. What you are stands over you the while, and thunders so that I cannot hear what you say to the contrary."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

"A classic is something that everybody wants to have read and nobody wants to read."

Using the Computer to Create Big Books

What better way to motivate young children to read than to create class books. Now the teacher and students can go a step further to create electronic books that can be stored on the class computer or on CD's. Students will read these books over and over again because they helped to create the books.

For older students this idea can be used for book reports or to advertise books in the school's media center. Take the idea of electronic books and use it to best meet student needs.

Please review the electronic books created by CCSD teachers:

The Class Pumpkin (now published at the www.readwritethink.org national site)
The ABC Book
