Technology Policy Issues
It is the expectation that all students, teachers and administrators adhere to the policies outlined in the Acceptable Use Policy which states that technology must be used securely in a lawful and ethical manner for CCSD educational or business purposes. Each CCSD employee and student must sign the AUP yearly.

ISTE Standards
The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards address the social ethical, legal, and human issues associated with technology use in the classroom. South Carolina has adopted the ISTE NETS as the state technology standards.
Proviso
According to the State Department of Education policy for Teacher Technology Proficiency (Proviso 1.25) all employees
with a valid South Carolina teaching certificate (teachers, guidance counselors, media specialists, teacher coaches, itinerants) will complete the following requirements:
- Complete the online self-assessment yearly
- Renewal or Graduate Course in Technology : One 45-hour course or three 15-hour courses per certification period
- Principal Observation of a Technology Integrated Lesson based on ISTE NETS
- Technology Professional Development: 2 Hours completed yearly
